Progetto di corpus parallelo Inglese/Piemontese[modìfica | modifiché la sorgiss]

Vi prego di aiutare in questo progetto, che trovate descritto qui. In pratica, si tratta, in questo momento, di tradurre frasi dall'inglese al piemontese, il che ci permetterà di creare un corpus parallelo libero che potrà essere utilizzato in molti campi della linguistica computazionale e in particolare (è il nostro sogno) aiutare a sviluppare un sistema di traduzione assistita inglese-piemontese.

La "regola" fondamentale è tradurre ogni frase in quella che si ritiene la miglior maniera possibile, ossia senza curarsi del fatto che sarà utilizzata da un computer. Si è già dimostrato (cercate sugli articoli pubblicati qui) che le persone finiscono per semplificare le loro traduzioni, quasi come se parlassero ad uno straniero, quando sanno che saranno "lette" da un computer. L'obbiettivo, però, è creare un corpus di qualità per aiutare le persone, non i computer. In riassunto:

  • Ogni frase va tradotta nella miglior maniera possibile.
    • Questo significa che si devono cercare a tutti costi frasi "naturali", che suonino bene -- anche e soprattutto quando l'ordine sintattico è molto diverso dalla lingua che viene tradotta (vedi la frase P7 sotto).
    • Allo stesso modo, si possono omettere parole del testo originale o aggiungerne nuove, nel caso la traduzione risulti migliore. Questo vale anche per le espressioni idiomatiche.
    • È bene ricordare che è una caratteristica di traduzioni ben fatte il fatto che siano singole parole in inglese tradotte con intere espressioni in piemontese e viceversa.
