This article should be renamed. The older Scottish language is Gaelic, not Lowland Scots.

it is highly offensive to claim Lallans as the only Scottish national language.

Hmmm and where does this happen? I read this article and found no such claim. I find a text saying that Scots has SCO as an ISO code and is mostly spoken in Scotland. Is there anything wrong with this? The ongoing mapping operation in this wiki has no aim to state who is better (or more "historically rooted") than who. We are simply building a list saying how languages are usually classified and in which spots of the planet they are mostly spoken. I have the deepest personal sympathy for Gaelic and I hope the ongoing restoration programs will meet the best success. --Bèrto 'd Sèra 05:21, 20 Oto 2008 (UTC)
