Hi/Bonjour Utent:Lyokoï,

we must consider that the Capello dictionary (1814) is the 2nd Piedmontese dictionary , after Pipino (1783) and just before Zalli (1815).

The piedmontese orthography, detailed at page XI ("Méthode"), is quite corrected, the only differences with the "historic" (now "standard") orthography are the following:

• Capello: "ou" = [u] and "o" = [o] (as the French orthography);
• standard: "o" = [u] and "ò" = [o] (as the Occitan, Genoese and Milanese orthography).

Now the piedmontese orthography is a few more detailed. We can use the convention "ò" = [o] because the vowel [o] in piedmontese is only tonic.

Most probably Capello used the French orthografy because in 1814 the Piedmont was part of French Empire.
